Office of Emergency Management
Radio Roselle 1640 AM
The TR6000 Transmitter and AP55 control equipment for Radio Roselle was purchased from Information Station Specialists Inc in October of 2002
The system has a maximum power of 10 Watts. The system is roof mounted on one of the municipal buildings, with a single monopole antenna.
One unique feature is the integrated all-hazards radio. In the event of a natural or man-made disaster, the National weather service transmits an area specific code (SAME CODE) with the Weather radio system.
This alert is retransmitted locally via Radio Roselle. It can now be received on a normal AM radio, either at home or in your car. This eliminates the need to purchase a dedicated receiver, or depend on cable or satellite television for local emergency information.
